Health-Care Technician

Being considered as one of the largest industries in the world, health-care employment is expected to grow by 22% in the next ten years. This is especially true with the technical aspect of the job. Radiology technicians are those who perform x-rays and place non-radioactive matter into the veins of patients, which is done in order to diagnose health problems. They also manage imaging departments and are responsible for keeping patients’ records.

A laboratory technologist operates laboratory equipment, sets up experiments and records observations and results. Their tasks call for a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Some specialise in microbiology, genetics, immunology and molecular biology. A medical assistant, on the other hand, is more concerned with administrative and clinical duties, running the office of physicians and other health practitioners. There are many other technicians and assistants with different tasks. However, all of their responsibilities are geared toward aiding nurses and doctors in their duties.
