Distance Learning
Distance learning refers to studying online. This can be a Master’s Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree, an Associate’s Degree or a certificate. It can encompass a whole four-year course or can simply contain a seven-day seminar. Usually, a distance learning student receives reading materials, listens to audio tutorial and watches videos of the lessons. These are purchased and can be downloaded or accessed online any time.

Studying online
After each topic or throughout the lessons, the mentor will give the student an assignment, an exam or research work. Sometimes, group assignments will be handed out. Online students can meet and discuss in forums or official blogs, where one must participate in order to prove his or her attendance. This allows him to share ideas with fellow distance learners and enrich his knowledge through dialogue. There is also a time for the teacher to chat one-on-one with each student, where the latter can ask questions, receive feedback and be mentored. All this is done at the student’s own pace, though there may also be deadlines, depending on the nature of the assignment or of the course.
